How to book?

You can book tickets online by clicking on the time of a film. Please print or screenshot a copy of the confirmation page/email.
In Person
Via the Cinema Foyer or at the Malvina House Hotel reception desk.

Unfortunately, we are unable to process seat sales over the telephone, however, please feel free to pop in or use our online service.
What do the film classification ratings mean?
U For audiences aged 4 years and over
PG Parental Guidance, usually suitable for audiences aged 8 and over
12A No one younger than 12 years and younger may see a 12A film unless accompanied by someone over 18
15 No one younger than 15 may see a '15' film in a cinema
18 No one younger than 18 may see an '18' film in a cinema
Unfortunately, we will be unable to admit a customer to see a film who does not appear to be of the required age for the film certification.

We reserve the right to challenge a customer on this issue, as it is not just a HarbourLights policy, but also the law. Customers may be asked to provide proof of age.
Children under eight years old must be accompanied by an adult.
Why do you charge an online booking fee?
A booking fee of 50p is payable for each cinema ticket purchased via the HarbourLights Cinema website and is in consideration of creating, maintaining, and operating the website & relevant booking systems, and to pay for the convenience of booking online.
Should you wish not to be charged a booking fee, tickets can be purchased in person within cinema opening hours or via the Malvina House Hotel reception
Do you allocate seats?
Allocated seating is available for the majority of performances, so you will have the opportunity to select your seats during the online-booking process and in person. We kindly ask you to sit in your booked seat
Some special performances we will allocate the seats and you will be advised of this at the time of booking.
We advise that you arrive at least 20 minutes early at peak periods.
How do I change, or add more tickets, or cancel a booking?
If you would like to cancel or otherwise change a booking you will need to contact the cinema direct not less than 2 hours before the start of the performance. Please refer to our “Terms & Conditions” for full policy details applicable to cancellations.
How long do the advertisements and trailers run for?
Ads and trailers normally run for approx 10 minutes. Some films may have no Ads before them. The time of the film advertised is no less than 10 minutes before the feature film starts.
Can I bring in my own food and drink?
We believe that our food and drinks have been reasonably priced to enhance your cinema experience. Therefore, we ask politely that you do not bring food and drinks purchased from outside sources.
When does the cinema open?
The Box Office and Kiosk opens at least 30 minutes before the start of the first film each day.
Can you be refused entry to a screening?
We reserve the right to refuse admission for any reason.
You will be required to leave the premises without a refund if you:
• behave in an anti-social or threatening manner; or
• put the safety of our customers, our employees or our property at risk; or
• bring a camera or recording equipment of any kind into the cinema; or
• otherwise breach any of our terms and conditions
Can I have my mobile phone in a screening?
Yes you can, but please switch it off before the film starts. (The light is just as distracting as the sound!)
What is a family ticket and who does it apply to?
Adults pay the child price with our family ticket. It's available for all screenings rated U, PG and 12A and covers four people: either one adult and three kids (under the age of 15), or two adults and two kids.
What is the age restriction in Child and Senior tickets?
Child tickets are available to those who are 14 years of age and under.
Senior tickets are available to those who are 64 years of age and over
Photographic proof of eligibility may be required for any discounted tickets.
Can I bring a baby to a regular screening?
If your child is less than 2 years old and they will be on your lap, they don't need a ticket and can enter a screening if it is BBFC certified appropriate (U/PG/12A). At a regular screening, no adjustments would be made to the playlist; the volume will still be at standard level & if your baby makes any noise, you must take them out of the screening.
Is there car parking?
Free carparking is available at the rear of the hotel, however, please note the entrance to the cinema is via the Malvina House Hotel Reception. Parking is on a first come, first serve basis. Parking is completely at the owner’s risk.
Is there a smoking facility?
You must not smoke or use E-cigarettes inside any of our premises. Please use the dedicated outside smoking areas and dispose of cigarettes in the purposely designed cigarette bins. We ask that you take any litter with you and dispose in the rubbish bins provided.
